The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap for the week before, showcase books and things we have received, etc.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks for us and apparently it’s not going to slow down any time soon. I signed up for another class last week. It will be for B term and it will be my fifth course for this semester. The school has officially moved my status from full time to overloaded. It’s funny, but I understand it’s a lot of work and hopefully next semester will be a little easier. However, when I said I was determined to do this, I knew if I took my time, I’d never get there. So I refuse to waste time in order to get a little more sleep every day. After all, this is what is best for me and my family.
I’m excited because I have the opportunity to sign up for a service learning opportunity. My school is offering several of them and I just have the hard decision of choosing which three will be my top three. I plan on putting Zimbabwe and Belize as my top two choices. However, my third choice is proving to be a difficult one to make. I originally wanted to choose Thailand, but I’m also considering Haiti and Romania. I wish making a decision like this was easier. The only reason I know I want Zimbabwe as my first choice is because I have always wanted to visit Africa. Specifically, I wanted to become an archeologist and to live in Egypt uncovering more artifacts about one of the civilizations that has held my interest since I was a child. The closest I have ever gotten was during my time in the Navy, as we passed through the Suez canal. I was so close to my dream and yet, so far away. Though I won’t be anywhere near Egypt, I would love the opportunity to go on this trip and see that part of the world. After all, who would love the opportunity to see elephants, giraffes, lions and other fascinating animals, in the wild. All while being able to provide a service to people who need it. It’s a one in a lifetime opportunity for me and regardless of which trip I go on, I can’t wait to take in every single moment of it.
Anyways, I hope you all are having a great weekend and that you have a great week!

Here’s my (general) upcoming TBR list in no particular order:
It’s been a few weeks since I last posted this weekly meme. I actually picked up several movies and books last week, but I never got around to posting about them. As anyone who has read my blog before may realize, sometimes my reading takes on a theme. When I watched Everest, I began reading and researching everything I could about it. In lieu of September 11, I wanted to once again research the events that led up to the day my world change… Read More
